A Bewildering Bill
Legislation is one of the hardest things to read. I once tried to read a bill and my head fell off, and the law librarians don’t like that sort of thing. Just imagine what would happen if I read this bill.
According to the New Zealand Herald, a new election finance bill is nearly impossible to read.
How can that be? Is it written in Pig Latin? Does it require a special decoder ring? Was it written by Joe Eszterhas?
The bill is just flat out hard to read. It’s so bad a commission can’t interpret the bill to determine if its legal. Upon hearing the bill was completely unreadable, Oprah immediately recommended it on her book club.
