Cheating May Cost You More than Breakfast
Have you ever been cheated on by someone who you thought was your soulmate, your life partner, your one and only forever and forever? Well no wonder they cheated on you, with you pigeonholing them and all. Geez, give them some space.
Don’t fret. Now you can sue them. According to WCSC, the South Carolina Senate is on its way to approving a new bill that would allow jilted spouses to sue their cheating partners.
The bill is called the “Every Country and Western Song You’ve Ever Heard Gets Its Revenge” bill.
Proponents of the bill say it will preserve families and keep them together because nothing screams true love like the feeling of being financially trapped forever.
The law isn’t brand new. It’s been on the books since the 1800s and stayed there until 1992. That’s South Carolina, the state that’s building a bridge to the 19th century.
