Litter or Die
We’ve got nothing against littering laws. In fact, if you’re caught littering, we think that you should be thrown on the ground as well, just so you know what it feels like.
Unfortunately, New York is taking things a bit too far with their littering law, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.
The law states that anyone caught throwing trash or even an advertising flier on someone’s lawn with a sign that clearly states they cannot put fliers on their lawn will get a big fat fine. Wow, an anti-flier law? Why hasn’t the creator of this law received the Congressional Medal of Honor yet?
Unfortunately, there’s a problem. There always is. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be on this website.
The burden of proof lies with the homeowner. This is the probably the first criminal law I’ve seen that requires the victim to do the police work. What’s next? Will we have to write our own speeding tickets?
“Do you know how fast I was going?”
“Of course me. I was going way over the speed limit. I should write me a ticket.”
“I hope I can watch the speed limit from now on.”
