No TXT Law 4 Ca? LOL
We have nothing against laws that attempt to curb bad behavior that could prevent deadly consequences. We are all for mandatory helmet laws for motorcycle riders. We are all for seat belt laws that give people tickets who don’t wear them while we drive. We are all for laws that require everyone in the country to read the package of something before they eat.
So we’re a little baffled at this editorial complaining about the fact that California is about to pass an anti-texting while driving law.
The Appeal Democrat published this editorial saying that they don’t see a need for such a law. There’s also no need for a law that takes hand guns away from aliens who want to take over the planet, but who says we don’t need it tomorrow?
They call it a relatively unknown activity, but don’t give any raw data or facts to back it up and who says they have to? It’s not like they are a newspaper or anything. Wait…
So we did a little research ourselves. Using a state of the art researching tool called “Google,” we found that a study conducted by the AAA in 2007 found that 46 percent of teenagers, not every human being who drives but just teenagers, text while driving. I’d hate to think that the reason I almost died and went to heaven (who am I kidding?) is because someone wasn’t stupid enough to stop little Tyler from telling his friends that he totally scored last night while he is operating his Mom’s three ton death mobile.
