Now the Pants on the Other Leg…Again
There’s a plague spreading across this great nation of ours and it’s now starting infect our local legislatures. No, I’m not talking about political corruption or single-minded thinking or easily influenced politicians. I’m talking about the banning of baggy pants.
According to the Associated Press, Port Allen is the latest Louisiana town to ban baggy pants.
A councilman said upon passing of the bill that underwear “is called underwear for a reason.” It’s because it would be silly if we called them “nut-huggers.”
Another council member said they voted for the measure because the wearing of baggy pants is associated with crime, as opposed to say being too drunk to remember to put on a belt.
This is now the eighth community in Louisiana to ban baggy pants and two others are considering it. So come to Louisiana where you’ll be judged not by the content of your character but by the length of your inseam.
