Don’t ever run the U.S. and the Canadian flag within 30 miles of each other. There’s nothing with it. It’s just someone might try and cut it down and claim they are being patriotic for their side.
And in the American’s case, they are enforcing the law, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
A man caught trying to lower Ol’ Glory so that it did fly as high as Ol’ Maple Leafy wasn’t just a mindless act of American patriotism. It turns out international law says that’s the way it has to be. It also says you have to burn a flag to retire it, even though the country almost tried to outlaw that. But we’re not dealing with logic here. We’re dealing with the law.
The man claimed he was willing to die for his cause. I’m sure the flag felt the same way.
