The Gang’s Not Alright
If you find yourself having to stand up to the terroristic tyranny of street gangs who are prone to use violence for every answer to their problems, what better way to counteract their actions by passing more laws? That was sarcasm, by the way.
The Australian government hopes to wipe out biker gangs by doing just that, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
Now cops can declare certain gangs as “criminal organizations” and make it illegal for them to hang out together. So if the biker gangs do community service projects in between road rage incidents, that disqualifies them?
Some civil liberties groups, however, claim the laws are too broad and could be used to wrongly classify other groups as criminal organizations. So watch out Girl Scouts! Those Thin-Mints you’re pedaling could get you five to 10!
