The Only Sure Things, Death and Stupidity
On the one hand, we can’t totally fault this Democratic Representative from failing to pay his taxes because they are just so cumbersome and difficult to understand. I’d rather wrap my brain around “War and Peace” twice than try to read the tax laws and I mean literally ripping my brain out of my head and wrapping it around the book like it was a bow.
But Charles Rangel might have more explaining to do since he wrote the tax laws, according to the New York Times.
Rangel rented a beach house in the Dominican Republic that he failed to pay taxes for last year. How much, not much, only $75,000, which to a House Representative is what they used to wipe their cat’s butt with.
Rangel said he failed to understand the “cultural and language barriers” that prevented him from paying his taxes on the house. How do you say “bulls#&$*” in Domincianese?
